FAQ

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

To book an appointment with an artist you can either email them directly via their contact details on our artists profile page or alternately you can email the shop directly or come in for a chat.

Whether you choose to email the artist directly or the shop, there are a few essential bits of information that we will need. You will need to email us a brief description of what you would like done, some reference photos of things similar to your concept (please note that our artists will never replicate or copy anybody else’s tattoo or artwork), size and placement details and any other information that you feel is necessary.

Our artists will then aim to get back to you ASAP. If you haven’t heard back within 72 hours then please send us a reminder email.

From there, the artist will either request a quick 15 minute, in-person consultation if they feel it’s necessary, or will get you booked straight in for the tattoo at the next available and convenient date for both of you.

DO YOU REQUIRE BOOKING FEES?

Yes, we require booking fees for all tattoo appointments and we cannot book you in without one. The fee varies from artist to artist. Since Sean does full day sessions only, his booking fees are £100 per session. For all other artists the fee will depend upon how much the tattoo will cost overall, usually a certain percentage of the total.  Booking fees are deducted from the final cost of your tattoo.

WHAT ARE THE ARTIST RATES?

The rates vary for each artist so please enquire with them directly via email or the submission form below.

Our artists don’t charge for drawing time. The time starts from when the stencil is on your skin to completion of the tattoo. We don’t charge for breaks etc. Our shop minimum charge is £40, this is for anything that takes an hour or less.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR REBOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY?

We require at least 72 hours notice to re-book or cancel an appointment. If you wish to re-book and give us at least 72 hours notice then we can keep your booking fee on file and roll it over to the next appointment. Booking fees however are non-refundable so it will be the artist who gets it should you fail to keep your appointment and give us less time than the notice period stated. Please call or email the shop to reschedule or cancel an appointment.

CAN I SEE THE DESIGN PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

It is important that the client effectively communicates with their artist what kind of tattoo design they want. Our artists won’t start designing a tattoo until the client has booked in and paid a booking fee.

Please look at our artists work before requesting a tattoo from them to make sure you are comfortable with their style because all of their work is custom and they won’t ever copy other designs. All reference photos provided will be re-done in the artists own style.

Once you have booked in and paid a booking fee then the artist will show you what they have come up with when you come in for your tattoo appointment. They will be more than happy to make any small changes on the day of, but it’s important that you trust your artist to come up with a tattooable and solid design for you. Sending designs back and forth in the run up to your appointment creates a lot of extra work for our already busy artists.

Please feel free to request a consultation with an artist if you wish to chat about your concepts further before booking in! Consultations usually take place between 10-11 am and last around 15 minutes.

DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?

Yes we do! If there is an artist free then we will have space to accommodate walk-ins subject to artist availability and design. Walk-ins are taken on a first come, first serve basis so we recommend calling ahead first to check that we are able to tattoo you on the day! Sometimes when artists have cancellations then spots will open up on short notice.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU TAKE?

We take cash only in the shop, and there is a cash machine next door to us should you need one. We also have a PayPal account for the shop so you are able to transfer deposits that way if it’s easier. Give the shop a call for the details on how to do that.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET A TATTOO?

We will not tattoo anybody under the age of 18, no exceptions. All clients are required to bring photo ID on the day of their appointment.

WHAT ABOUT AFTERCARE?

Each artist will go through the aftercare procedures with you after you have been tattooed and we will give you an in-depth aftercare sheet to take home with you after your appointment.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY TATTOO?

No reputable shop will tattoo anybody who appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol so please do not drink any alcohol, take any aspirins or antihistamines or any blood thinning medication 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you are taking blood thinning medication regularly then we will need a note of consent from your doctor prior to, or on the day of your appointment. Without it we will be unable to tattoo you.

Make sure you are well rested and eat a full meal 2-3 hours before your tattoo. If your skin is irritated by any medical condition then please let your artist know before your appointment as some skin conditions will only worsen if they are tattooed over. Please avoid sunburn/exposure and self tanning products prior to getting a tattoo as these will only serve to make the skin more difficult to tattoo.

Keep hydrated and bring plenty of water and snacks if you wish, to help make the process more comfortable for your body.

If you suffer from any medical or skin conditions that you think may affect the outcome of your tattoo such as diabetes, epilepsy, haemophilia, a heart condition, are on blood thinning medication, conditions that may cause excessive bleeding, low or high blood pressure, impetigo, cellulitis, eczema, psoriasis, conditions which compromise the immune system, conditions that may cause haemorrhaging e.g leukaemia, allergies to metals (including nickel), latex, antiseptics, adhesive dressings or topical dressings and medicines, are pregnant or breastfeeding, then you will need to consult your doctor before you book in to make sure you’re able to get a tattoo.

We reserve the right to refuse a tattoo without explanation.

IS GETTING A TATTOO PAINFUL?

Unfortunately the process of getting a tattoo isn’t pain free. Some areas are more sensitive than others and everybody has different pain thresholds.

The more sensitive areas are ribs, inner bicep, back of the knee, neck, hands, collar bone, spine and feet. Our artists will do everything they can to make the process as comfortable as possible for you. You can bring earphones and music if you wish to zone out whilst getting tattooed or our artists are always more than happy to chat to you during the process which can help take your mind off it!

ARE THERE ANY SUBJECTS/AREAS YOUR ARTISTS WON’T TATTOO?

We will always try to accommodate each individual client to the best of our ability but sometimes a certain idea/area won’t work for many reasons. In that case we will always try and work out something that is doable and that you will be happy with whilst still keeping the original concept intact.

Sean has a small collection of certain subject matters that he is taking a break from at the moment. These will emailed to the client when they get in contact to book in with him.

Subject matter and body parts are all specific to each artist so please contact each artist for details. We will always do our best to accommodate you!
